Fortela’s HICKORY parka was inspired by the great Mountain Parka, designed by request for climbers who set out to scale K2 in 1953. That parka set new standards for style and, of course, quality, which was crucial for the expedition, allowing the climbers to withstand over a month at an elevation of 20,000 feet at temperatures that reached -70° Fahrenheit. Over the next three decades, the Mountain Parka’s reputation for excellence grew as it accompanied American climbers to the top of the world, protecting them against the harshest and most unpredictable conditions. It eventually became a model for winter jackets worn everywhere. HICKORY, designed and made in Italy, features soft goose-down insulation, wool flannel-lined pockets and buoyancy that recalls the B-9 Flight Parka. HICKORY comes with a Talon zipper, coulisse belt and rhomboid quilting – a synonym of adventure, exploration and superior-quality craftsmanship.
