This ambitious living space was seven years in the making. And seven are the facets of Alessia Giacobino: stylist, businesswoman, fashion consultant, architect, mother, wife and, more than anything else, woman.

Living by the sea, the natural element that is part of her DNA, with her large, rather wild garden, where time seems
to lose its importance – that’s what won her over from the start.
Which is why Alessia Giacobino opted for a
refurbishing. It turned out more complicated than building a house from scratch.
The restructuring required a
host of complex interventions, from the foundation to the roof, to turn this back into a safe, livable home.
The
original layout of the villa’s rooms remains intact.
The result is a home that is much different from the homes
of her neighbors.

Alessia Giacobino’s sense of intrinsic beauty guided her choices in terms of furnishing her cubic shelter, where one breathes in her deep love for 1950s-’60s-and-’70s design. While Alessia and her husband love to travel and pick up vintage items wherever they go, modern is the watchword here. There’s an original rhythm to the decor, exuding a casual elegance.

The at times severe yet always refined style is the leitmotiv that runs through each room. Warm, enveloping hues are everywhere – throughout living room, bedrooms and baths. The kitchen provides the lone exception. Situated along two parallel blocks, it gleams with white and steel for a contemporary look with maximum functionality. The rest of the house features ultra-dark wood, cappuccino-colored stone, leather and brass for elegant intimacy. Numerous family photos grace the more private niches.

Everything inside Alessia Giacobino’s villa seems to belong there. It is devoid of redundant scenic effects and in no way do you get the feeling that a cliché like perfection is being sought out at all costs. There is highly personal taste and a sense of esthetics that create an atmosphere of discreet luxury. It’s what Alessia and her family love to share every time they come home!
