JOHN 965 , Fortela's best seller, is made from Japanese selvedge denim, a fabric that is a symbol of prestigious manufacturing created with ancient shuttle looms that cross the horizontal threads of the weft with the vertical ones of the warp to give life to a fabric with an authentic vintage inspiration.
The jeans are handcrafted in Italy, where the Made in Japan fabric is worked with Union Special sewing machines from the 1930s and 1940s, giving the garment a recognizable signature that evokes a bygone era.
Testifying to the exceptional quality of the trousers is the selvedge , a stitching made with a contrasting red thread that runs along the outside of the leg, at the two ends of the fabric, marking its height, visible only when the hem is turned up.
